Therapy Methods

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a scientifically-based therapeutic method with a proven track record in the short-term treatment (6 to 20 sessions) of various mood and anxiety disorders.

It is a practical, solution-focused therapy that teaches new strategies and skills.

  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy

The practice of mindfulness combines meditation and breathing exercises to improve the way a person experiences their emotions. Mindfulness aims to enhance one's ability to tolerate the discomfort of negative emotions, and even to develop a sense of peace and strength in the face of difficulty.

Mindfulness practice and cognitive therapy are complementary to one another.

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

ACT aims to improve psychological flexibility, the ability to be in touch with the emotions and thoughts of the present moment, while maintaining or changing one's actions as needed in pursuit of one's goals or values.

This approach incorporates "mindfulness", which aims to bring attention to the present moment, rather than operating "on autopilot" in daily life.

  • Assertiveness & Communication Skills Training

Assertiveness training is recommended for those suffering from depression, social anxiety and problems resulting from unexpressed anger. Assertiveness training can also be useful for people wishing to improve their interpersonal skills and sense of self-esteem.
